Every year Craw-Kan employees donate money to help those in the area that may need a little extra Christmas cheer. Servicemen out in the field see firsthand many of the hardships that our patrons may be going through. So, many years ago, the “Time to Share” fund was conceived and the tradition began. All money in the fund is 100% employee donated and raised throughout the year by various means. We focus our efforts on trying to provide children a Christmas that they might not have had otherwise. We have also been able to provide a holiday ham or two to older folks as well.
Time to Share This Year
This year we are proud to say that we raised almost $8,000! That is the most that the fund has ever seen in one year. With that we were able to adopt 5 families with 22 kids in total. Over the last week the Time to Share Committee has been busy shopping and wrapping all the gifts in time for Christmas. A job that we all enjoy and look forward to – OK, maybe not all of us enjoy the wrapping part so much! We then make trips around the area, anywhere from Pleasanton to Weir and everywhere in between, making deliveries putting a smile on a few faces here and there.
Going Forward
As Craw-Kan continues to grow and thrive, so does our commitment to the area we serve and our members. Our success is your success. As we expand and grow so does our staff – a staff that is local and just as invested in the homes, neighborhoods, and area as our cooperative is. That is after all what a cooperative is, a group of people working toward a common goal. Happy Holidays from all of us here at Craw-Kan, we can’t wait to see what 2019 brings!
