CKTV – Fox Negotiations

Posted on December 31, 2019

NCTC (National Cable Television Cooperative) and Fox Corp, are currently negotiating a renewal of the retransmission consent agreement for the carriage of Fox Corp cable networks.  As a member of NCTC, Craw-Kan currently has consent to retransmit the following Fox Corp cable networks to CKtv subscribers:  Fox News, Fox Business, Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2.  NCTC’s current agreement with Fox Corp expires at midnight on December 31, 2019.

Cable TV and satellite distributors are prohibited by law from carrying broadcasters’ signals without their consent. The removal of Fox Corp signals from the Craw-Kan CKtv system will only result if negotiations between representatives of NCTC and Fox Corp are unsuccessful.

NCTC is working very hard to successfully negotiate equitable new carriage agreements with no disruption of service to subscribers.

While our hope is that new agreements will be in place before December 31st, so as not to deprive any of our respective viewers and customers of our programming, Craw-Kan does want to advise our viewers and customers that the possibility of non-renewal of the current agreement exists, which would cause Fox News, Fox Business, Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2 to go dark on January 1st, 2020 – until a new retransmission consent agreement between NCTC and Fox Corp can be reached.
